Hampstead

This family home had a contemporary feel with little to no features, very much the opposite of my clients interior tastes. We were therefore given a great amount of freedom to add many traditional features throughout the house which complimented the design brief of a classic english country home.

The house had to be able to accommodate modern family life with children yet be smart enough to entertain and receive guests in the formal spaces. The entrance hall was divided into different spaces to create an outer hall and an inner hall.  Dado panelling, deep cornicing, and polished plaster was added to keep a crisp clean neutral palette to reflect the marble floor. The Kitchen became the family room, creating two separate spaces and keeping an intimate cosy feel with a mix of yellows and blues to draw in the views of the garden.

On completion of this home, we had managed to create a series of warm personal family spaces with elegant entertaining rooms without making it too austere. Having a blank canvas such as this was great to work with as it allowed us to create a home with proportion and elegance from scratch
