Baron's Court

This Victorian terrace house had not been touched for some forty years, which provided a blank canvas to completely refurbish the property with updated systems and appliances, while still retaining many of the original features.

The brief was to turn what had been two dwellings into a five bedroom home with a large eat in kitchen extension, the two ground floor reception rooms were to be united by opening up the wall which created a more open feel to the house. This enabled us to design a library area for the clients wonderful collection of books.

Throughout the house we were able to have a lot of fun with colour and texture. For example a warm, relaxed and welcoming ambiance was asked for in the living and library areas. The colours of the burnt orange Phillip Jeffries sea grass wallpaper caught the clients eye as this coupled with the uncovering the original plasterwork and leaving it bare inspired thoughts of trips to Pompeii and their Italian ancestry.
